What does your typical day look like?
I’m the office manager for The Mettise Group, where I spearhead the scheduling, client meetings, and any office logistics to help our fast-paced, fluid office run smoothly. My husband and I are empty nesters and enjoy a more relaxed pace when possible, like visiting farmer’s markets and trying the delicious fare of our local restaurants.
What makes you feel proud?
I am called by many names: wife, daughter, sister, friend... but my greatest joy is being called mom and most recently, GiGi! My children and granddaughter are the most important thing to me. To see them flourish as adults and to see their love for the Lord and others makes my heart happy.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
My parents. I’m grateful to have been raised in a loving, disciplined home where I was introduced to Jesus and taught the value of having a personal relationship with Him. Today, my husband and children continue to inspire me to be the best version of myself and to give every ounce of love I have to give.
What keeps you up at night?
In the past I spent time a lot of time going down the rabbit hole of should’ve, could’ve, would’ve. While it’s important to reflect and learn from the past, it’s not a healthy place to stay. I try to end the day with gratitude and the short to-do list, of course.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
One of the hardest times in life was when my oldest daughter was born with a birth defect. I felt helpless. I couldn’t fix it or change it. I wanted to take her place, her pain, and as she got older, her fear. She had her first surgery at three days old. Over the next 17 years she would continue with 16 more surgeries. Lifted up by family and friends, I relied on my faith and trusted that the Lord would get us through and make her whole, and He did. She underwent her last surgery at age 17, and today she’s a successful business owner. Smart, witty, and beautiful inside and out. I’m so grateful for family and friends who’ve been there over the years loving on us.
What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?
I would love for everyone to know the grace and love of Jesus. To experience a personal relationship with Him today, and to know without a shadow of a doubt that they will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
