Lindy White

What makes Lindy Wildly Capable?

First and foremost, I admire Lindy for her servant’s heart in helping others. I have seen her lead a woman’s unity group after the murder of George Floyd, spearhead a program to combat suicide at the National Guard, humbly clean and move furniture into a refugee apartment, and so much more. There are millions of examples of Lindy’s character that she models every day and, in doing so, inspires others.” SHANNON WARREN

What makes you feel proud?

I love seeing members of my family love each other, cheer each other on, and be there for each other. This goes for my adoptive family and my biological family who found me through social media. I am also proud of the team I get to work with. And I am proud to sing with the OK Worship Choir, the Singing Church Women, and my home church. I love worship!

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

Jesus, Billy Graham, and Mother Theresa – all examples of famous people who did not allow fame to rule them.

Also, my mom and my great aunt Pauline, non-famous people who knew things about me and loved me anyway. Those two showed me how to love people like Jesus.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Time. There is so much I still want to do and accomplish and so many people still to help.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope to be stronger and bolder in my faith. In doing so, I won’t lose my desire to keep doing the right thing, helping people when I can, and enjoy what time I have to do it all. My life is one of resilience and hope, and I want to share that with others. As an adopted child from Korea, I was given a ticket to the American dream and today, I am a colonel in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. I was given a chance that changed my life.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I was told by my best friend’s mom, “When you get to a place in life where you can help someone else, keep the circle going and help them.” She told me this after I expressed gratitude for helping me after my adoptive mom and dad passed my senior year in high school. God provided her at a very hard time in my life.
