What makes you feel proud?
The life I created for myself and how far I have come. I could have settled but I didn’t. I was brave enough to say I wanted a different life. I am the first woman in my family to go to college and the first to earn two degrees, the first woman to get a divorce, and the first woman to start her own business. I am proud of how brave and resilient I have been to forge my path. I am also filled with pride when I watch my clients shift their mindsets, take the power back in their lives, and make life-changing adjustments that not only impact them but their families too.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
My family and friends for sure. My husband has shown me unconditional love and acceptance which has been so healing. Dr. Carmen Jones has taught me what is possible for the human brain and body and that when the right tools are in place, thriving humans create world change.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
I could talk about trauma, toxic marriage, loss from a flood, PTSD, and struggling with SI for years, but it all comes down to believing I was less than. Lack of self-worth created pain and a life of disappointment. It kept me stuck, waiting on someone to come rescue me, disempowered to change. Using the tools I teach today (brain retraining, mindset, and nervous system regulation), I have learned to see the faults in this story and rebuild my self-worth.
What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?
The mindsets that women struggle with. We are the change makers and because of our history, the playing field is not level for us. We aren’t taught how to detach from thinking, process emotions, regulate our nervous systems, or how our hormones and brain chemicals impact our mindset and emotions. If women had the tools to understand how their brains work, they would be empowered to think and feel confident and worthy, allowing them to take up space, show up in the world, and do what they are called to do.
