Jennifer Austin Hanna

What makes Jennifer Wildly Capable?

Jenn is wildly compassionate for her people. She can be the life of the party, make you laugh, and show up for the hardest moments to support others. Her energy can transform a room and her support can change someone’s life.” JENNIFER ARMSTRONG

What makes you feel proud?

I am proud of the mother I have become. I feel absolute pride when I see how strong and resilient my son is everyday. I am proud of everything I have accomplished in my 40+ years of life. The failures (or setbacks) were only temporary chapters to push me forward and have opened so many other doors. I am proud that I have a tribe of people who are willing to show me grace everyday and love me more than I love myself some days. I am so extremely proud that my actions have made someone think to nominate me!

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

I would love to be able to show children how much of an impact their words have on others. Creating a positive program for them to learn how changing just a few words can make a huge difference. Show them that they have the power to uplift their peers instead of tear them down.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

There are a few people I look to for advice and guidance. In business, I had a great mentor early on who taught me the importance of just showing up everyday. He taught me how to visualize the type of customers I would need to have the type of lifestyle I wanted. He taught me the importance of always being coachable and to never stop learning. I would not be the hairdresser I am today without his guidance. In my personal life I have two amazing women who have helped to shape my parenting and keep me from jumping off the “cliff.” They have taught me the importance of patience and taking the time to breathe.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Definitely navigating through a divorce and how to become a working single mother. Every week balancing how to make sure my son’s emotional and physical needs are met while making sure every customer’s needs are meet. After all that, then making sure I fill my cup and recharge.
