What does your typical day look like?
There really isn’t a typical day for me, although the idea sounds lovely! I spend a part of each day running a household, partnering with my husband in ministry, and leading The Classroom Collective, which is a hybrid homeschool program I co-founded with Kim Heinecke.
What makes you feel proud?
I am proud of the accomplishments made at The Classroom Collective. Teachers and staff have created an environment where students achieve academic success, build community, and continue to have the flexibility in their schedules to pursue a variety of other interests. Loving our students is one of the best ways to spend time. Our culture reflects this.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I hope I continue to become a more compassionate person who sees every individual I interact with as a person deserving of love and respect. I want to become a better leader and listener. Lastly, I want to be more confident in who I have been created to be.
What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?
Education is a top priority. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. We need leaders who understand the world is not dualistic. What keeps you up at night?
Students who aren’t receiving the best education possible. Regardless of your choice (public, private, charter, or homeschool), every student deserves to have an education that prepares them for the world beyond high school and helps them to be a helpful member of their community.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
My husband, Terry Storch. I have had the benefit of watching him lead in ministry for more than 20 years now. What I have gleaned from him has helped me become the leader I am today.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
My biggest obstacle has been my own insecurities. Imposter syndrome is real for me, but I have grown! I know I am exactly where the Lord needs me to be.
What advice do you wish you could give your younger self? How might it have changed your course?
“Trust your gut!” I have spent so much time asking others’ opinions when it wasn’t necessary. If I had to guess, I bet I would have simply made it to where I am sooner. But I am here now, and that is what matters.
