Stephanie Peña

What makes Stephanie Wildly Capable?

Stephanie has been a light in my life, in OKC, and nationally for over two decades. She’s a champion for Latinas, an advocate of the arts, and an ally to all. She has the voice of an angel and the heart of one too. A young stroke survivor, she shares her story in vulnerable and empowering ways that inspire me every day. I love her and can’t wait for more people to know her. SUZANN WADE

What makes you feel proud?

Saying “yes” and “no” with purpose and positive intent, without being a people-pleaser. Providing more equity in equipped spaces for a younger generation of Latinas. Paving the way to wholly express, identify, and show up as an accurate version of all that I represent. It makes me proud to know that I can confidently look myself in the mirror and like what I see. Most importantly, I like the way my life feels. I like who I am, what I do, who I do it with and for, and how I do it.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

My mama. I will never understand the capacity for empathy and compassion that this woman possesses. As a breast cancer-survivor of 12 years and caretaker for my chronically-ill sister, this strong warrior gave me so much of what I needed to survive my stroke. Her encouragement helped me beat my odds throughout my recovery and she continues to fuel me through my continued journey.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

Even more open to what opportunities lie before me. I want to approach life with even more capacity for love, creativity, kindness, compassion, and collaboration! I want to remain curious and always identify as a student of life. I hope I have even more financial freedom and overflow of abundance to share with others.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Let them be wrong about you.
