What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
The biggest obstacle in my life has been my tendency to shrink myself and silence my voice. For many years, I struggled with self-doubt and the fear of stepping into my true potential. Unlearning this way of being has been a challenging journey, but it has transformed my life in profound ways. Even though it often feels uncomfortable and scary, I now strive to embrace the fullness of who God has created me to be. Since I stopped hiding and started stepping boldly into the spaces and opportunities that God has placed before me, my life has opened up in ways I never imagined. Doors that once seemed out of reach are now within my grasp, and I am continually reminded of the extraordinary things that can happen when we stop shrinking and allow ourselves to truly shine.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I hope to have cultivated a rhythm of rest that brings more balance and peace into my life. Balancing the demands of motherhood, my business, and my personal growth has been a challenge. I also aim to become more confident and wise in my role as a Black woman who owns a business. Navigating the complexities of running a business can be daunting, but I hope to approach these challenges with greater assurance and strategic insight.
What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?
I am deeply committed to helping heal the generational trauma that has held my community in bondage for far too long. These wounds often undermine our capacity to form and maintain healthy and fulfilling familial relationships, romantic partnerships, and friendships. They interfere with our ability to pursue fulfilling careers and live out our true purpose. By aiding my community in healing these deep-seated traumas and finding liberation, we can pave the way for raising healthy, resilient children. We can learn to give and receive love in healthy, nurturing ways and experience the joy and peace that come from living authentically. This healing journey also empowers us to reach our personal and collective goals, ultimately leading to a thriving and flourishing community
