Shea Mathis

Her life’s work lies in raising five children on five acres with a slew of animals all while her husband serves in the military. And as if that wasn’t enough, Shea Mathis is opening a coffee shop to keep serving her community. She shares her story on this episode of The Wildly Capable Woman podcast. Here’s how she describes her typical day:

I suppose I could start by noting the comedy of the notion that I have a typical day; normal is my abnormal. My husband and I are raising our five kids on five acres along with a menagerie of domesticated and semi-domesticated animals. In addition to that questionable life plan we also homeschool 4 out of 5 kids. My husband is full time military, and a compulsive entrepreneur; currently we are opening a coffee shop. So, my typical day is some kaleidoscopic conglomerate of driving kids to places, teaching kids, feeding kids, mudding walls and riding horses.
