What makes you feel proud?

I am very proud of my two children and the accomplishments they have made in their careers. They both have grown so much as adults and have chosen wonderful spouses, and I have two grandchildren that I am very proud of.

Looking back, I have always been an extremely hard worker, and even in the face of adversity and as a single mother for most of my children’s childhoods, I was often working three jobs at a time to make ends meet and make sure our family could be comfortable.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

My biggest obstacle is there are never enough hours in the day for all of my tasks, obligations, and the care of my mother; however, somehow it seems to work out.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

One year from today, I hope I’m different in that I will have grown and expanded as a small-business owner. I’d love to have a brick-and-mortar storefront for Happy Camper Handcrafted Sodas so our customers can visit us every day. Making this happen will require finding balance between all the responsibilities I currently juggle, but I’m confident I can make it happen!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

To never give up on your dreams and not let obstacles get in your way. If you believe you can do it, you can make it reality.
