Lauren McAfee

Perhaps best known for her ministry work, Lauren jumps at any opportunity to communicate ideas that matter and inspire community action. That sometimes looks like loving her daughter well and other times looks like learning more about public policy impacting women’s reproductive healthcare and human dignity issues.

What keeps you up at night?

My newborn. And stories of human rights injustices. I summarize a main focus of my life’s mission by saying that I am an advocate for human dignity in culture and policy.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

A man who lived 2,000 years ago: Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus changed my life and has given me hope and purpose like nothing else this world can offer.

“I summarize a main focus of my life’s mission by saying that I am an advocate for human dignity in culture and policy.”

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Navigating parenthood amidst career endeavors.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope every day I am less focused on myself and more focused on God and others.

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

Women having support for their family and career aspirations.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

This CT Studd poem often quoted by my Grandpa: You have only one life, soon it will pass; only what’s done for Christ will last.
