What makes you feel proud?

I am proud of how far I have come with my photography skills. I am also very proud of how I have recovered from postpartum depression. Not only have I recovered and have victory in that, I had two more children after I was diagnosed. Praise Jesus!

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

My biggest obstacle in life so far has been facing postpartum depression. That time was the darkest and most scary moment in my life. It was literally a life-or-death situation. I was put into a behavioral health clinic for 10 days while my first born was four weeks old.

“My feelings and emotions are valid. I am loved, I am worthy and I am forever enough.”

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

That mothers do not have a specific place to go for postpartum issues. They are always thrown into the general population of mental health. There needs to be a place where they can feel safe with their children and be able to talk and work through the temporary emotions and feelings of a new mother.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

That my feelings and emotions are valid. I am loved, I am worthy and I am forever enough.
