Hannah Meadows

What makes Hannah Wildly Capable?

Hannah is so wise. The way she uses that wisdom to tune into others’ needs has been beautiful for me to watch. She is the kind of leader that our city needs... one who is constantly looking to empower others.” JORDAN HUMPHREY

What makes you feel proud?

I have had the privilege to have meaningful conversations with hundreds of individuals going through the pretrial system in Oklahoma County, some of which I have been able to provide immediate support through bail assistance and fine/ fee relief. I know my interactions and support were meaningful to many in the justice system. I am proud to have provided some assistance, but I am most proud of the way I have grown from the opportunity to serve. I have gained a much deeper understanding of the inner strength that people have and their ability to endure and persevere, and yet how much needs to be done to create clearer pathways to success for those who are constantly having to maneuver systematic hurdles. I am proud of my ability to expand my willingness to see things from others’ perspectives and my wantingness to advocate for a society where we see whole people, not just their current circumstances or mistakes.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

The number one influence is definitely God. I really am trying to live my life according to God’s plan for me. My husband, David, comes in at a close second. He pushes me to be my best self while completely accepting who I am. He relentlessly seeks wisdom through prayer, mentorship, ministry, and reading. He constantly works to gain knowledge and understanding of himself and others and I admire that so much. He truly has the kindest heart of anyone I have ever met and I am blessed to call him my better half.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

My biggest obstacle so far in life is one that unfortunately many other women can relate to. Trying to conceive has been a huge struggle for us, and this has caused a lot of pain and confusion. Although it has brought a lot of hard times, it also led us to become foster parents for nine months to the most amazing kiddo and I am extremely grateful to have had that experience. I also have endured more hurt than I ever thought possible through this process, and I am proud of the empathy and strength I have gained.
