The Rewrite: Jantzen Miller

“I am large, I contain multitudes.” Walt Whitman famously used that line in “Song of Myself” and it’s so apt for our Hundred honorees. 

What was true for Whitman all the way back in 1855 is true for us today. We're always changing and growing and broadening your perspective in every passing moment.

So that’s why we’re introducing Rewrite: an opportunity for honorees to look back at their Hundred interview and tell us what’s changed. 

Did you have a mindset shift? An experience that opened your heart to a new reality? An epiphany that can only come with life lived?

It's been about five years since we first interviewed Jantzen Miller. Here, she reflects on what's changed:

I’m proud to say that what I wrote 5 years ago not only held up, it almost prophesied about the growth I would experience. What I longed to help women accomplish, walking more confidently in their identity and caring more about God’s voice than the voice of others, I actually ended up receiving more for myself. But funny enough, it wasn’t because I accomplished more on the outside. Since getting pregnant in the summer of 2021, going on an almost 3-year sabbatical in 2023, and getting off social media in 2024, I’ve been relatively quiet to the outside world. I wrote a book and released it in 2024, a life long dream, but soon after found out I was pregnant with my second child and never really had a chance to promote it. And honestly, that’s okay! Because I’ve experienced exponential growth behind the scenes. So much so that as I continue to be released to “come back” I will probably be unrecognizable to those who walked with me before I stepped away. More assured, less insecure. Not needing the approval of others, and just being confident in running in my lane.

It’s fun to experience the level of freedom I do now, as an ambitious woman called to be excellent in business but never at the expense of my family, but it’s just the beginning. 5 years from now I hope to show women they really can have it all, be a huge asset in the marketplace, a caring community member, a loving and grace-giving partner, and an intentional and present mom, but their time commitments and priorities just may not be the same.
